Assessment – Part 2

Individual and group responsibilities

v
In part 2 of assessment 1 you should write a 900 word reflection on your experience of group activity in seminars. This should include a review of both your effectiveness as a group member and the effectiveness of the group as a whole.

v
To assist you with this you should use a theory of reflective practice such as Kolb’s learning cycle.

v
Lectures and seminars on groups and teams will be essential in providing you with the knowledge and guidance to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the group and your own role within the group.

v
The emphasis should be on a critical evaluation, not on self-promotion. Try to identify strengths and weaknesses, and areas for personal development.

               Individual and group responsibilities

v
Each member of the group should read the core text (King and Lawley) and undertake wider reading.

v
You should have regular meetings to discuss research on John Lewis and relevant organisational behaviour topics.

v
Most importantly, you will need to work as a team to achieve success.

v
This will require you to decide key roles for each member in your group.

v
Is there a natural leader for the team, a colleague who is experienced at researching books and articles, team members who are experienced at writing reports, individuals who would be good at editing and ensuring tasks are completed on time?
