Automated testing is a very important tool in your toolbox for both testing and setting up test data. For this lab, you need to create 5 different tests.
You will need to:
Firstly, pick a publicly available website (NOT Amazon) so I can run your tests. It can be any type of website
Secondly, write a brief use-case / user story for each of the tests so I understand what the test is supposed to be doing.
Write 5 different Selenium test.
They should be something like:
Firstly, create a user account / validate the account was created properly
Login / validate login
Secondly, search for a thing / see if it exists or does not exist
Thirdly, add the thing to your shopping cart and verify the item and cost
Further, delete the thing from your shopping cart -or-
Additionally, create an account on reddit / validate the account was created correctly
Furthermore, submit a post on reddit Find a post and post an automated reply
Moreover, count the number of posts in a subredit Look for a post created by user x
Take screen shots of each test and it’s run.
Create a word doc that describes what you’ve done, how to setup and run the tests.
Zip up the word doc, AND your Selenium test files and place in the drop box by Sunday.
Includes 5 tests
Checks for the success of the thing being tested.
For example: did I successfully add the item to the cart?
Describe the testing including your setup, how you ran the tests.
Describe each use-case being tested along with a screen shot of the test and results.
Includes your descriptions AND the selenium test files.
Submit Submit your completed assignment to the Assignments/Dropbox titled for this activity by the date specified by your instructor.
